Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) is a state of deep but conscious meditation, a kind of sleeping between waking. It promotes healthy sleep practices, reduces stress and is profoundly sensual and relaxing. The New Dharma Nidra Practice gets your body to move through a series of gentle, balancing asana before taking a supported savasana. Lying still, you are guided through an awareness of nadis (energetic channels) on the body, bringing you into a state of well-being and rest. Once in a state of nidra, we introduce Himalayan Sound Meditation. With antique Tibetan Bowls, you take a sonic bath, taking you to a deep sense of quiet, stillness and peace. After 75 minutes of this delicious practice, you are gently encouraged to awaken, feeling refreshed and clam.
The Nidra is led by Kat Whitney, a transformative senior yoga instructor, teacher trainer and life coach who holds multiple yoga certifications, in an initiated tantrika in Neelakantha meditation and has received White Tara Empowerment in the Dzogchen Buddhist lineage.
Sound healing and meditation is guided by sonic theologist Rudi Bach. With a powerful and extensive collection of antique Himalayan Bowls, Rudi performs and teachers sound meditation. With a background as a vocal coach, Voice Dialogue counselor, and sound designer, Rudi’s contemplative and therapeutic soundscapes are transcendent. A graduate in Theatre Arts, he studies Sonic Theology and Sound Therapy at 9 Ways Academia.
