The New Dharma

I’m Kat — mama, dharma guide, yoga scholar. Horse-crazy, snow-mad.

I adore my kids and am bringing them up to engage, inquire and find their own path to a free and beautiful life.

I’m obsessed with farm to table eating, a healthy environment and a full-circle approach to having as much fun and deliciousness as possible in our abundant, beautiful lives.

I love my work, guiding super-empowered women who can shift UP the liberation and expansion that we all want.

Like you, I’m a wholesome badass who balances grihastha (literally "devotion to family and home") with the chaotic demands of modern life.

As I walk the path of āchārya (instructor in spiritual matters), I cherish the gifts given to me by my grandmothers Louise and Frances: a kind, honest and compassionate ear to truly listen and hear you while providing support and space, strength and ferocity to hone the tools you already have and offer effective new skills so you can do the work yourself.

I would love to meet you and see if the path of the New Dharma can be useful to you as you expand, create, grow and become the person you have always known, deep down, you really, truly are — a goddess divine having the time of her life in the great play we call human being.

Life has created a form by which it may know itself, and that form is you.

We have some tools for you

 If you are . . .

  • Fuzzy, unfocused and feeling a little blurry around the edges

  • Feeling trapped in your life circumstances

  • Stuck in a holding pattern with no clear way to move forward

  • Not getting any younger, not getting any happier and still wanting to get the dreams you’ve had since you were little UP and OUT and FLOURISHING

I know how you feel.

I’ve been there.

I am a householder just like you, living and dealing with the ups and downs of everyday life.

And I tried everything to make life a little easier, to quiet that nagging thought there is something subtly but profoundly, I don’t know, WRONG — with me, my life, the world.

When the Indigo Girls came out with Closer I Am to Fine, I thought they had written it just for me:

I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
We go to the doctor, we go to the mountains
We look to the children, we drink from the fountain
Yeah, we go to the Bible, we go through the work out . . .

Many years ago I found yoga and boy, did that help. I felt steadier, stronger and more balanced every day. But there was still a little something OFF, something a little disingenuous about the KIND of yoga I was practicing.

A lot of my teachers weren’t walking their talk.

I noticed a kind of split in Modern Postural Yoga in the West. As my teachers were brought up on charges or self-destructed over sex, power and money issues, I kept looking.

And eventually — and ironically — I found a Doctor of Philosophy, just like the Indigo Girls said. Reading Tantra Illuminated by Christopher Wallis changed everything.

Now years into this path, I’d like to share a very specific kind of yoga with you — Tantrik Yoga. No, not neo-Tantra and all its focus on sex.

Non Dual Saiva Tantra Yoga, a simple and fascinating philosophy with many practical tools that can be layered on top of ANY spiritual belief system and get you back on a path to happiness.

Tan-tra. Tools that expand. Tools that help. Tools that help you stand in your own power.

If you . . .

  • Are intellectually and spiritually curious

  • Value the practical

  • Have a sense of humor

  • Feel the potential of your physical, emotional and spiritual blueprint but can’t q u i t e figure out how to get there

  • Want to be a human, not a bot

  • Are ready to begin, right where you are right now . . .

We’ve got the goods.
