We are located in beautiful Berkshire County, as far west as you can go in Massachusetts before you reach New York state. Our rolling hills are full of history, culture and powerful energies. Land of the Mahican, a seat of early Puritanism and later the American home Eastern Indian philosophy, we have a powerful spiritual pull. Summers draw cultural festivals here with Tanglewood Music and Jacob's Pillow Dance nestled in our verdant hills and intriguing art collections housed in the enormous former mills that dominated the region during the Industrial Revolution. Melville, Thoreau, St. Vincent Millay and Hawthorne wrote here; Rockwell, French and Calder developed their respective visual art forms here as well. The autumn cool paints the woods in spectacular fall finery and we harvest the bountiful gifts of our own gardens and local farms. Winters are a quiet time for snow-filled explorations, skiing and hiking in the deep forests and contemplating by a roaring bonfire. Spring brings the running sap and maple sugaring in our own sweet sugar shack. We know you will love it here as much as we do. Come discover YOUR peace, inspiration and expansion in our small, potent and very special almost-hidden 'Shire.
